The body of the stein is a smooth, black glazed, high quality stoneware decorated with a platinum wrap around design. There is an image in the center featuring a fire helmet and the words "FIRE DEPT", and the sides are decorated with pictures of fire engines. Rows of raised stars decorate the ornamental pewter lid.
